SPAM Mail Filter Setup for Outlook Express 5 and 6

 NOTE you must have filled out the form for this to work.

Step 1

Open Outlook Express

Step 2

Click on Tools, then highlight Message Rules and select Mail.

 

 

You will see the following screen

3 Click on New

The Following Screen Appears

 

Step 4

To set the Filter to detect the spam and store it in a folder (so you donít lose email)

Check the boxes in 1. and 2. as below.

Setting the filter to delete the tagged mail skip to step 8.

 

Step 5

Click on the blue words in box 3. contains specific words and enter [SPAM] then click Add.You will end up with a box like the one below and then click OK

 

You should get a box that looks like the one below.

 

Step 6

Now click on the word specified in box number 3. and the following screen will appear

 

Step 7

select New Folder and type SPAM Click OK you should see the folder SPAM added to the list.Click OK again and you should get the following screen The last thing to do is fill out box 4. with spam rule after that click OK and you are ready to filter spam.

To review you filtered email just click on the folder SPAM and check to see if any of the email are incorrectly tagged as spam. If you are losing email call the office and we can adjust your settings to stop the lose or valid email . 905-834-6388

 

  

Setting the Filter to DELETE the mail tagged as SPAM

If you want to just delete the email set the filter up as follows

If your mail filter is setup to delete it will appear like the figure below

Click OK and you are ready to filter.
